POLARITY THERAPY

Founded by Dr. Randolph Stone, Polarity Therapy is a unique system of energetic bodywork. It involves various types of manipulations, reflex and acupressure points, and controlled stress releases that bring balance and harmony to the body. Polarity is a holistic approach to healing involving nutrition, meditation, stretches, exercises and health management techniques. Polarity is an ongoing and dynamic balancing of life energy and is the foundation for health and well-being.

EXPERIENCING A POLARITY SESSION

A Polarity session generally begins with a short verbal evaluation with client input. A massage table is used and the person can be dressed in whatever makes them feel comfortable - usually loose shorts and a tee shirt. Some individuals choose to be in just under garments. A general treatment may begin with head, neck, shoulder work, contacting points behind the base of the skull. Often there are gentle rocking gentle rocking movements of the hips or legs and may be utilized if the need is indicated. The treatment ends with relaxation and deep breathing used for specific problems such as lower back pain, migraine, carpal tunnel, arthritis, and other Polarity exercises or stretches to help in between sessions. The practitioner may also help to process strategies for resolving issues causing tension. It is best not to wear make-up or perfumes. All jewelry must be removed for the treatment. Make-up and perfumes are not recommended.
